On Tuesday, October 12, some of the teachers celebrated Columbus Day with their students. Dominicans call the holiday “Dia de la Raza.” We painted the students faces and made headdresses for them to run around and act like the indigenous tribes from the Dominican Republic that were here when Columbus discovered America (mouthful) Enjoy the pics!
