We’ve just received this update from our partner, Jonathan Ramirez. He is currently serving with his wife, Lauren, in Sudan. They are working to open a school in addition to the church and health clinic they have already established. For more information, please visit our Sudan page!
I wanted to let you know what’s happening with the school lately. One exciting bit of news is that we have a drilling rig being towed up by tractor even as I write this. When we were at home, God provided just the right people to foot the bill for three bore holes for Nagishot. One of the bore holes will serve the school. That was a big hurdle in our planning process for how we can really sustain a school there with water so far away. The survey crew is confident there will be water when they break in due to the large and green trees on the premises…something about how they are reaching the water through their root system and so the holes will reach the water also. I dunno, but it’s exciting. They are also in the process of repairing our Nagishot-Chukudum road.
The funds that your group raised for the teachers’ quarters are at work now. Currently, there stands a frame and the roof has been raised. William and Eunice are gone to Kenya for the wedding of their daughter, Salome. When they return, work will continue for construction of the walls.
