We were beyond blessed to have a short term mission group serve alongside Makarios this past week. Led by Doug & Margaret Beck (who are moving to the DR to serve full time with Makarios this August!), the group consisted of their family and friends from Texas and New Mexico. The group spent the majority of their week helping our staff prepare for our summer school program, by painting the classroom walls,  assisting the teachers in preparing projects, and cleaning/organizing around the school. The group was also able to spend time in each of our villages (Chichigua, Tamarindo, and Pancho Mateo), teach VBS to our after school program, spend time at the river with the Los Ciruelos ESL class, and swim at the beach with the Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade classes.

Margaret, Doug, Bettye, Shirley, Martha, Shelby, Jake, Stewart, Lara, Melissa, Mckenna, and Hallie, thank you so much for your incredible service to our school, our communities, our students and our staff. We have loved spending time with you this past week and we appreciate all the work you have done for our ministry!
