Makarios partners with Doulos Discovery School in Jarabacoa and Spirit Mountain Coffee to bring great coffee to Austin. Makarios imports the coffee and sells it to Dominican Joe Coffee Shop.  The proceeds from the sale of the coffee fund our educational programs in the Dominican Republic.  The coffee is also available for sale on our online store.

Our certified organic coffee is grown on a 350 acre ecological reserve located high in the Central Mountain Range of the Dominican Republic. The plantation produces a smooth Caribbean brew with good body, a rich cocoa flavor and mid acidity. Coffee on the plantation is harvested using fair trade practices and is certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
